This page features some examples of ready-made programmes in my portfolio. These are adapted individually, depending on the customer's context.

For many projects I develop tailor-made processes and workshops in the fields of organisational, team and campaign development according to the client's needs.

Engaging Faciliation training

What for? What does it take to facilitate meetings for everybody to be fully present and actively participate? How to conduct them in a way that they are engaging and effective rather than draining and daunting? How to ensure participants' full ownership of the outcomes? What to do before, during and after the meeting? And what exactly is the role of the facilitator? Learn about this as well as facilitators’ secret tips and tricks for creating a good meeting culture. Explore how to make a meeting a collective, co-creative effort. And get to know special requirements for facilitating meetings and key tools for interventions and for addressing disruptions.

Who: Target group are employees of non-profit organisations who have occasionally facilitated meetings before and want to become proficient facilitators. The training is designed for closed groups with up to 12 participants.

When and where? The training can be delivered by video conference in two 2½ hour modules, or in a full day in-person version. It is specifically developed for the NPO context.

Online Collaboration training

What for? The Corona crisis challenges us to get to know and optimise digital forms of communication. What are 'best practices' for video conferencing? Which rules, methods and tools guarantee smooth online collaboration with lively participation? How can I, as a facilitator, conduct brainstorming sessions, votings and get a sense of the room online? How do I make sure that all participants are involved, fully present and not distracted? What do I need to pay special attention to when facilitating video conferences, and how do I ensure that everyone buys into the outcome of the meeting? Which key cultural questions need to be addressed for successful online collaboration? These and related questions are explored with experiental learning methods in this online training.

Who: Target group are employees of non-profit organisations who communicate and collaborate online. It is especially suitable for facilitators of online meetings. The training was designed for closed groups with up to 12 participants.

When and where? The trainings is delivered by video conference in two 2½ hour modules or in one 5-hour block. It was specifically developed for the NGO context.

Feedback training and organisational implementation

What for? Feedback is a core practice for individual and organisational learning and development. Feedback helps us to shed light onto our bling spots, broadens our perspective and thus our scope of action. Feedback - and feedforward - giving is a highly valueable opportunity for individual and organisational agility.

Who: This is an in-house training. Target group are employees of non-profit organisations. The workshops are designed for closed groups with up to 12 participants.

What? This is a series of up to three worksshop nuggets aiming to convey and practice feedback giving and successfully anchor it in the daily practice of teams and organisations:

1. Feedback training (2:15 h)

Learn and practice observing, listening and feedback giving. Get to know feedback giving methods and rules.

2. Team reflection on feedback giving (3 h)

Reflect current feedback giving culture in the team. Co-create, agree and apply future team feedback practices.

3. Review of team feedback culture (6 months later, 3 h)

Reflect development of feedback giving practices in the team, practice feedforward. Fine tune and agree future feedback giving culture in the team.

The workshops can also be booked seperately. The content can be adapted and expanded as required.

When and where? All modules can be delivered offline or, for remote teams, also online. The workshops series was specifically developed for the NPO context.

Campaign kick-off week

What for? This 5-day intensive workshop was developed for the optimal start of an advocacy campaign team. Building on years of personal experience in leading advocacy campaigns and the development of numerous national and international campaigns, this week is designed for the campaign team to get to know each other, develop a common understanding of how advocacy campaigns work, plan and fine-tune the joint campaign and develop a joint team culture.

Who: The target group are new forming, national or international advocacy NPO campaign teams. The programme is well suited for distributed, virtually collaborating teams.

What? The standard content includes:

  • Getting to know each other individually, sounding out needs and preferences, building the team
  • Development of a common understanding and know-how of campaigning (including communication and engagement) and terminology
  • Development of a common vision or common goals
  • Planning or fine tuning of the campaign
  • Development of full ownership and buy-in, as well as willingness to take responsibility for the planned campaign
  • Reflection on and discussion of the implications of cultural encounter; cooperation in an intercultural context and associated opportunities and risks
  • Development of a joint team culture, confidence building
  • Project environment analysis
  • Check of the team-maturity level with regards to the envisaged project

When and where? The workshop is scheduled for 5 days. Time and place will be determined individually according to needs. The natural environment is being integrated in the workshop, so the venue is chosen accordingly.

Campaign planning

What for? A workshop for planning advocacy campaigns.

Who: The target group are staff and volunteers of national or international NPOs that conduct advocacy campaigns in the fields of environmental protection, animal welfare, human rights and social justice.

What? The standard content includes

  • Agree on the intent
  • Conduct campaign context analysis
  • Define the vision and goals of the campaign
  • Design the campaign strategy
  • Identify the target group and allies
  • Develop an engagement strategy
  • Brainstorm and develop tactics
  • Develop communication strategy including framing and storytelling

This content can be adapted and expanded as required.

When and where? The workshop is scheduled for 2-3 days. Time and place will be determined according to the client's needs. The natural environment is being integrated in the workshop, so the venue is chosen accordingly if possible.

Advocacy campaign training

What for? This two-stage training (beginners and advanced) conveyes the basics of integrated management of advocacy campaigns.

Who: The training was developed for NPOs and volunteers.

What? The standard content of the beginner level is

  • Campaign planning guideline - the basic building block of a campaign
  • Vision and goal of a campaign
  • Situational and context analysis
  • Power Analysis, Strategy, Theory of Change

When and where? The training workshop is scheduled for 3 days. Time and venue are chosen according to the customer's preferences.

Team building Workshop

What for? The purpose of this workshop is for a team to get to know each other and to develop a team culture as well as team cohesion.

Who: Target group are new, forming national or international NPO teams. The workshop is well suited for distributed, virtually collaborating teams.

What? Standard content includes:

  • Getting to know each other, exchange on individual needs, preferences and competencies.
  • Identification of the common purpose and identity.
  • Clarification of roles and responsibilities in the team.
  • Definition of structures and processes in team collaboration.
  • Exchange on transparency, determining team communication flow.
  • Agreement on a team charter (mission, values, principles of collaboration etc.).
  • Reflection on and discussion of collaboration in an intercultural context and the associated opportunities and risks.
  • Development of a common team culture and attitude.
  • Building trust, disclosure of assumptions.
  • Joint definition of the learning and feedback culture in the team.
  • Communication of successes, celebration culture.

Team review Workshop

What for? A workshop to review the status quo of a team as well as to reflect and identify possibilities to optimise the team collaboration.

Who: Target group are NPO teams that have been working together for at least 6 months and have already done a team building workshop.

What? The standard content includes

  • Getting to know each other in depth
  • Scripted dialogues for the exchange of individual assessments about highlights, low points, development potential and suggestions for adapting the team collaboration
  • Practical interventions, as far as possible in nature, to reflect on the collaboration
  • Adressing current topics and conflicts
  • Systemic view on team collaboration
  • Review Team Charter, roles and responsibilities
  • Reflection of the feedback and communication culture in the team
  • Team resilience check

Vission, mission and values of an organisation

What for? A clear vision and mission as well as organisational values derived from them are crucial for the effectiveness of an NPO. This workshop is dedicated to their development or revision.

Who: The target group are new or existing NPOs that are committed to ecological change and/or social justice.

What? Standard content includes

  • Development of a vision using natural materials, props, collages.
  • Deduction of an organisational mission.
  • Definition of organisational values within the mission.
  • Possible methods used include Appreciative Inquiry Conference, Theory U, Future Conference.

'Community of Practice' retreat

What for? This workshop creates the space for mutual support and learning from each other in a 'Community of Practice'.

Who: The target group are NPO employees of the same hierarchical level, especially middle and upper management.

What? The standard content includes

  • Learning from best practices, e.g. Appreciative Inquiry
  • Reflection of the status quo in the different departments/projects
  • Co-creative problem solving
  • Peer counselling
  • Discovering options for collaboration and mutual enrichment among projects and department
  • Feedback giving
  • Project environment analysis
  • Getting to know each other and networking
